A Year Defined by Transformation

Oh Jungse first drew attention with his striking performance in JTBC’s ‘Good Boy,’ where he portrayed Min Jooyoung, a customs officer who secretly controls the underground economy of Inseong City. Beneath the character’s ordinary exterior, Oh revealed a cold-blooded villain capable of violence without hesitation, leaving a lasting impression through restrained delivery, piercing gazes, and unsettling calm.

He followed this with a sharp tonal shift in Disney+’s original series ‘Tempest’ (Korean title: ‘The North Star’), playing Jang Junsang, a prosecutor and the younger brother of a presidential candidate. Navigating ambition, betrayal, and grief, Oh delivered a layered performance that captured the character’s inner conflict as political tensions escalated.

Balancing Darkness With Warmth on the Big Screen

Oh Jung-se also made his presence felt in cinemas with the film ‘High Five,’ portraying Park Jongmin, a devoted father whose world revolves around his daughter. His natural comedic timing and grounded portrayal brought warmth and humor to the film, offering audiences a refreshing contrast to his darker television roles.

In addition, Oh continued to shine in special appearances. He appeared in Netflix’s ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines’ as Yeom Byeongcheol, the stepfather of IU’s character, delivering a portrayal of a carefree yet oddly endearing figure. Most recently, he made a memorable appearance in tvN’s ‘Hateful Love,’ once again proving his strength as a scene-stealer.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Oh Jungse shows no signs of slowing down. He is set to appear in multiple upcoming projects, including MBC’s ‘Fifty Percent,’ Genie TV’s original series ‘Climax,’ and the film ‘Wild Thing.’

An agency representative commented, “Oh Jungse demonstrated remarkable versatility in 2025. We hope audiences look forward to the new sides of him he will reveal in 2026.”

With a year defined by fearless choices and seamless transformations, Oh Jungse continues to stand out as an actor capable of redefining himself with every role and expectations for his next chapter are higher than ever.
