Fans of singer-actor Ok Taecyeon are once again turning celebration into compassion. Instead of sending physical birthday gifts, fans follow the artist’s wishes by channeling their support into donations and volunteer-driven initiatives. Supporting Homeless Independence Programs
This year’s donations are directed to Dalpaengi Wish, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping unhoused individuals achieve independence. The group conducts on-site outreach across key areas of Seoul, including the Seocho and Gangnam districts, working to prevent extreme cold-related deaths and mental health crises while encouraging participation in public rehabilitation programs.
Dalpaengi Wish also assists with access to shelters, temporary housing, and essential services, offering a pathway back into the community for those living on the streets.
Nightly Outreach and Long-Term Support
Comprised entirely of volunteers, Dalpaengi Wish has carried out nightly street outreach since 2015, providing winter supplies, warm meals, and emergency assistance. The organization continues to stay in touch with more than 50 individuals who have successfully returned to community life, offering ongoing support to help them maintain independence.
Representatives from the organization shared that Wonderful Taecyeon’s continued support will allow them to reach and assist even more people in need during the winter season.
Nearly 15 Years of Fan-Led Social Impact
In addition to this year’s donation, Wonderful Taecyeon has a long history of charitable actions, including distributing rice wreaths to underprivileged communities. With nearly 15 years of consistent outreach, the fan club has become a notable example of how fandom culture can translate into meaningful social action.
