Actor Ahn Bohyun has opened up about the on screen intimacy in tvN’s romantic comedy ‘Spring Fever,’ revealing that frequent physical contact during filming naturally brought him closer to co-star Lee Joobin.

The two actors appeared together on the YouTube variety show ‘Salon Drip,’ released on January 6, where they shared candid behind the scenes stories from the drama, which they filmed together for approximately six months.

“Skinship Makes You Closer”

During the conversation, Ahn Bohyun addressed the nature of the drama directly.
“Because the genre is romantic comedy, there’s actually a lot of skinship,” he said. “After doing those scenes, you do end up feeling closer to each other. I don’t think that’s something you can deny.” His comment immediately drew a reaction from Lee Joobin, who admitted she had been thinking the same thing. “I was about to say that too, but I felt embarrassed and couldn’t bring it up,” she said, laughing.

Lee Joo bin added that the long filming period contributed to their bond. “We went through a lot together over six months of shooting,” she explained. “It feels almost like comradeship like we survived something together.”

From Source Material to Screen

The discussion also touched on the drama’s original source material. Host Jang Doyeon pointed out that the original novel was known for being particularly stimulating, prompting Lee Joobin to elaborate. “I read both the script and the original novel,” she said. “The novel describes things very explicitly. When I got to the later parts, I honestly wondered, ‘Are we really going to go this far with the skinship?’” Despite the novel’s intensity, Ahn Bohyun was quick to clarify that the drama adaptation takes a more approachable route. “The drama isn’t something viewers need to analyze deeply,” he said. “It’s actually something families can watch together comfortably.”

Chemistry That Translates On Screen

‘Spring Fever’ centers on the unexpected romance between Seon Jaegyu (Ahn Bohyun), an impulsive and straightforward man, and Yoon Bom (Lee Joobin), a guarded high school teacher who keeps emotional distance from others. The contrast between their personalities, paired with physical closeness and emotional tension, has become a key draw for viewers. Ahn Bohyun’s remarks highlight a familiar truth in romance driven productions: repeated physical and emotional scenes often accelerate trust and comfort between actors, leading to more natural chemistry on screen.

Audience Response Grows

As ‘Spring Fever’ continues its broadcast, viewer interest has been steadily rising, particularly around the leads’ dynamic. The actors’ candid discussion of their working relationship has further fueled curiosity about how their characters’ relationship will evolve in upcoming episodes.

Rather than framing skinship as sensational, both actors emphasized professionalism, teamwork, and the organic closeness that develops through shared experience offering insight into how on screen romance is built behind the scenes.
