Actor Go Kyung-pyo was unable to attend the production press conference for tvN’s upcoming drama Undercover Mis
s Hong due to health-related reasons.
The press event was held on January 12 at The Link Hotel in Sindorim, Seoul, ahead of the drama’s premiere. Prior to the event, the production team had announced that cast members Park Shin-hye, Go Kyung-pyo, Ha Yoon-kyung, Jo Han-gyeol, along with director Park Sun-ho, would be in attendance.

Absence Explained at the Event
However, during the opening of the press conference, host Park Kyung-lim informed the media that Go Kyung-pyo would not be participating.
“Go Kyung-pyo was unfortunately unable to attend today due to health issues,” she said. “We hope for his speedy recovery.”
According to his agency, the actor experienced a sudden decline in his physical condition earlier that day and sought medical treatment at a hospital.

About Undercover Miss Hong
Undercover Miss Hong is a retro office comedy set in the late 1990s. The story follows Hong Geum-bo, an elite financial supervisory officer in her 30s, played by Park Shin-hye, who goes undercover as a 20-year-old entry-level employee at a securities firm after suspicious financial activity is detected.
Blending workplace comedy with undercover investigation and nostalgic late-’90s vibes, the drama promises a fast-paced and humorous take on identity, ambition, and corporate chaos.
Broadcast Schedule
Despite Go Kyung-pyo’s absence from the press event, anticipation for the drama remains high. Undercover Miss Hong is scheduled to premiere on January 17 at 9:10 p.m. KST on tvN.
Fans have since taken to social media to wish Go Kyung-pyo a swift recovery, hoping to see him back in good health as promotions and broadcasts continue.
Fans React With Concern and Support
Following the news, fans quickly took to social media to share messages of support.
“Health comes first, always.”
“We’ll wait, just recover well.”
“Hope he’s okay before promotions continue.”
The tone has been overwhelmingly understanding, with many prioritizing his recovery over promotional appearances.
Editor’s Insight
While absences like this can momentarily disrupt promotional flow, they rarely impact a drama’s long-term performance unless the issue continues into broadcast.
In this case, the situation may even have an unexpected effect.
The sudden concern around Go Kyung-pyo has increased attention toward the drama right before its premiere.
However, the key factor moving forward will be visibility.
If the actor is able to return quickly for interviews, promotions, or early broadcast activities, the impact will likely be minimal.
If not, the production may need to rely more heavily on its story, concept, and remaining cast to sustain momentum.
Either way, one thing is clear:
Right now, audiences are watching not just for the drama
but also for updates on Go Kyung-pyo’s recovery.
