Police have cleared singer turned actress Nana of all charges following a bizarre legal twist in which a home intruder accused her of attempted murder after breaking into her residence.

On January 16, the Guri Police Station announced that it had decided not to forward the case involving Nana to prosecutors, concluding there was no evidence of wrongdoing. The police determined that Nana’s actions during the incident constituted legitimate self defense.

Intruder Turned Accuser

The case stems from an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of November 15, 2025, when a man in his 30s identified only as A allegedly broke into Nana’s home in Acheon-dong, Guri. Armed with a weapon, A reportedly threatened Nana and her mother and attempted to extort money from them.

According to police findings, Nana and her mother resisted, resulting in a physical struggle that allowed them to subdue the intruder and alert authorities. Both Nana and her mother sustained injuries during the confrontation. The suspect also suffered a facial injury, including damage to his jaw. Despite being detained and later incarcerated, A filed a counter complaint, accusing Nana of attempted murder and aggravated assault, claiming he was injured during the altercation.

Police: “Clear Case of Self Defense”

After reviewing witness statements, medical records, and the overall sequence of events, police concluded that Nana’s response was proportionate and necessary to protect herself and her family. “Based on the circumstances and available evidence, Nana’s actions fall under justifiable self defense,” police stated, confirming the ‘no charges’ decision.

Agency and Nana Respond

Nana’s agency, Sublime, strongly criticized the suspect’s actions, stating that he showed “no remorse” and attempted to exploit Nana’s status as a public figure by filing what they described as a malicious counter suit, causing secondary harm to the victim. Nana herself addressed the situation through Instagram, writing, “Unbelievable things are still happening, and I’m in the process of getting through them. I’m sorry for causing unnecessary worry.”

What’s Next

With the police decision now finalized, Nana faces no legal consequences related to the case. The ruling brings closure to a disturbing incident that sparked public concern not for celebrity controversy, but for a stark reminder of how victims can be retraumatized even after surviving a crime.
