Cortis Joins Sony Pictures Animation, Signaling a New Chapter for K-Entertainment on the Global Stage

Cortis is taking a decisive step onto the global entertainment scene. The artist has officially partnered with Sony Pictures Animation, joining the original soundtrack of the studio’s upcoming animated film GOAT and further cementing the expanding influence of K-entertainment beyond music charts.

On January 16, BigHit Music confirmed that Cortis will perform “Mention Me,” an insert song for GOAT. The project immediately drew attention as it comes from the same global animation team behind Netflix’s hit ‘K-pop Demon Hunters,’ a title credited with bringing K-pop aesthetics and storytelling to a wider international audience.

From K-Pop Roots to Hollywood Soundtracks

Cortis’s involvement in GOAT reflects a broader trend: Korean artists increasingly being tapped not just for albums or tours, but for major Hollywood productions. The soundtrack lineup itself underscores this global ambition. Alongside Cortis, artists such as Jelly Roll, Bryant Barnes, and Ayra Starr are participating, creating a multicultural musical palette designed to resonate with audiences worldwide.

The film’s production also adds weight to the collaboration. GOAT is being produced with the participation of NBA superstar Stephen Curry, heightening anticipation for a project that blends animation, sports culture, and music into a single global IP.

Beyond a Single OST: A Symbol of Industry Shift

For Cortis, this OST marks more than a one-off collaboration. Being invited into a Sony Pictures Animation project signals recognition of both musical identity and international appeal. It also reflects how Korean labels and artists are increasingly positioned as creative partners in global entertainment, rather than regional contributors.

The release of “Mention Me”, scheduled for February 13 at 2 p.m. KST, will offer the first glimpse into GOAT’s sonic world. With it, Cortis steps into a space where K-entertainment intersects with global animation and mainstream pop culture.

As Korean artists continue to cross boundaries from music and drama to animation and film Cortis’s Hollywood OST debut stands as another clear sign that K-entertainment’s influence is no longer limited by geography, but defined by its growing creative reach.
