A Youth Drama Set to the Sound of Piano

‘Four Hands’ is a coming-of-age drama set at an elite arts high school, where gifted young musicians collide through friendship, rivalry, love, and ambition. The series is written by Shin Yi-won and directed by Park Hyun-seok, a pairing known for emotionally grounded storytelling and strong character arcs.

The title Four Hands a piano term referring to two performers playing one instrument together symbolizes both harmony and tension, hinting at the complex relationships that unfold through music.

Song Kang as a Piano Prodigy at a Crossroads

Song Kang takes on the role of Kang Bio, a piano prodigy born with exceptional talent and refined through relentless discipline. Though outwardly flawless, Bio is forced to confront his own limitations and insecurities when faced with a rival who challenges not only his skills, but his identity as a musician. The role marks Song Kang’s first on-screen appearance since completing military service, drawing attention from fans and industry watchers alike. Known for leading roles in romance and genre dramas, his casting signals a more introspective, performance driven turn in his career.

Rivalry and Resonance: Lee Jun-young and Jang Gyuri

Opposite Song Kang, Lee Jun-young plays Choi Jeong-yo, a once-brilliant piano genius who abandoned music due to a harsh upbringing. His sudden arrival at the prestigious arts school disrupts the status quo, setting the stage for a fierce rivalry rooted in contrasting worldviews and lived experiences.

Jang Gyuri rounds out the trio as Hong Jae-in, a viola major with exceptionally sensitive hearing. A longtime supporter of Bio’s music, Jae-in becomes an emotional anchor within the trio, offering empathy and perspective as tensions rise. Her character bridges competition and companionship, adding emotional depth to the narrative.
