Choo Young-woo and Kim So-hyun’s New Romance Faces a Test in ‘Love Doctor’ Episode 7

Just as Park Min-jae and Lim Yu-jin begin dating, Kim Se-jin’s unexpected involvement puts affection and admiration on a collision course.

Getting together was only the beginning for Choo Young-woo and Kim So-hyun’s characters in Love Doctor. After confronting their emotional wounds and finally choosing each other, Park Min-jae and Lim Yu-jin are discovering that becoming a couple does not automatically mean understanding one another, and the next episode introduces someone who could make that adjustment considerably more complicated.

Ahead of episode 7, airing October 26 on ENA, newly released stills place Kim Se-jin, played by Lim Jin-hyo, at the center of a developing conflict between the young lovers. His involvement brings an unusual tension to the romance because his attachment to Min-jae comes from admiration, while Yu-jin is navigating her feelings as Min-jae’s girlfriend. Both care about the same person, but their different relationships with him leave plenty of room for friction.

A New Relationship Meets Its First Complications

Min-jae, played by Choo Young-woo, and Yu-jin, played by Kim So-hyun, reached a turning point after acknowledging the hurt and uncertainty that had shaped their interactions. Their decision to be together gave the romance a hopeful new direction, although the episodes that followed have continued to show the smaller disagreements and emotional misunderstandings that come with learning how to be a couple.

That adjustment is becoming more complicated as people around them enter the picture. Yu-jin’s encounter with Min-jae’s mother, Hong Eun-ju, played by Shim Hye-jin, has already suggested that their relationship will have consequences beyond their private moments together. Se-jin’s involvement adds another pressure, bringing the couple’s developing romance into contact with the relationships Min-jae maintains elsewhere in his life.

The episode preview therefore shifts attention toward what happens after a confession: how two people make space for each other while managing their own feelings, expectations and connections with others. Min-jae and Yu-jin have agreed to move forward together, but they are still discovering what that commitment looks like in practice.

Why Has Kim Se-jin Sought Out Park Min-jae?

The new stills introduce a more serious atmosphere between Min-jae and Se-jin, with Se-jin holding his head as though struggling with a troubling situation while Min-jae appears to listen closely. The images suggest a conversation that matters to both characters, although the preview leaves the reason for Se-jin’s visit and the details of their exchange unanswered.

That uncertainty gives Se-jin’s role particular interest heading into the episode. His respect for Min-jae is already an important part of their dynamic, and the decision to approach him could reveal more about what he expects from that relationship. For Min-jae, meanwhile, the conversation places him in the middle of a situation whose effect on his romance has yet to become clear.

The production team has teased that Se-jin will repeatedly enter the couple’s orbit and draw them into unexpected circumstances. The stills offer the first indication of that disruption, setting up questions about what he needs from Min-jae and why his involvement puts him at odds with Yu-jin.

Love and Admiration Create an Uncomfortable Rivalry

A separate set of images captures a colder exchange between Yu-jin and Se-jin, whose tense looks suggest that their latest disagreement will be difficult to brush aside. The two have already clashed as laboratory colleagues, giving their confrontation a history that extends beyond the immediate situation involving Min-jae.

What makes the developing conflict distinctive is the difference between their feelings toward him. Yu-jin sees Min-jae as the person she loves, while Se-jin respects and looks up to him, creating competing expectations without establishing Se-jin as another romantic suitor. Their disagreements can therefore emerge from how each believes Min-jae should be approached, understood or supported, even when both have his interests in mind.

According to the production team, that contrast will produce exchanges that are both tense and humorous. It gives the episode room to explore the awkwardness of overlapping relationships, particularly when a newly formed couple is still establishing its own rhythm and someone else’s involvement begins to interrupt it.

When Does ‘Love Doctor’ Episode 7 Air?

Episode 7 of Love Doctor airs on ENA on October 26 at 10 p.m. KST, with the drama also available through KT Genie TV and Disney+. Directed by Ahn Pan-seok and written by Min Hyo-jung, the series continues its Monday–Tuesday run as Min-jae and Yu-jin move from acknowledging their feelings to facing the practical and emotional challenges of being together.

The next episode’s central question is how the couple will respond when their relationship becomes entangled with someone else’s expectations. With Yu-jin and Se-jin already accustomed to challenging each other, Min-jae’s place between them could turn a promising new romance into a much more complicated balancing act.

Editor’s Note: Ahn Pan-seok’s earlier romance work includes One Spring Night, which Netflix credits to Ahn and writer Kim Eun. That connection provides background for viewers approaching Love Doctor through its director’s filmography; the episode developments described above come from the advance preview and promotional stills, rather than a review of the completed broadcast.
