Global K-pop sensation BTS is projected to generate nearly $1 billion (approximately 1.5 trillion KRW) from its upcoming comeback world tour, according to a report by the BBC.
In an article published on January 13 (local time), the BBC predicted that BTS, returning as a full group after a four-year hiatus, will hold 79 concerts worldwide, making the tour one of the largest and most lucrative in music history.

The projected revenue far exceeds the group’s previous tour earnings. During their last world tour, BTS reportedly generated $246 million, setting a then-record for K-pop acts. The upcoming tour is expected to bring in nearly four times that amount, reflecting the group’s sustained global influence and massive fan demand.
The tour is scheduled to kick off on April 9, 2026, with a three-day concert at Goyang Stadium in South Korea, before expanding across Asia, Europe, and North America. Major cities such as London, Tokyo, Munich, Sydney, and Los Angeles are included in the itinerary.

The BBC also noted that BTS has not performed extensively outside South Korea and the United States since 2019, heightening anticipation among international fans who have been waiting years for a full-scale world tour.
The report further highlighted the financial impact of the group’s hiatus on their agency, HYBE. According to the BBC, HYBE’s operating profit reportedly declined by 37.5% in 2024 during BTS’s group hiatus, a downturn expected to be significantly offset by the upcoming tour.
With their long-awaited return, BTS is poised not only to dominate global stages once again, but also to reaffirm their status as one of the most powerful acts in the global music industry.
